Constructing Our Residential Apartment

In 1991, 127 South Fourth was owned by Kay Holsted and was home to her retail shop, Heart in Hand. One day, while investigating upstairs, Kay realized the potential in the neglected storage area. She resolved to transform the exposed studs into a functioning apartment. Kay gathered her friends and drew up the floor plan. She credits her friend, Bob Krug, with guiding her through the major part of the construction process. The result was a three bedroom apartment, which Kay was eager to share with customers, friends, and guests of the town of Oregon's Candlelight Walk.
